The Brooklyn lofts are named after the Brooklyn Bridge, completed in 1883. This was designed by John A. Roebling, built by Washington Roebling (his son) and Emily Warren Roebling, who assisted her husband in supervising construction when Washington was seriously injured. The cables used wire rope manufactured in Trenton.
